Space to understand, room to grow
I'm Susan, and I've been working as a therapist for over 15 years now. I work with adults and couples who are dealing with anxiety, grief, trauma, and relationship struggles. I'm fully accredited with UKCP and registered with BACP. My approach is person centred, which just means that it’s all about what works for you. Whether you need just a few sessions or longer-term support, I'm here for face-to-face sessions in North Shields and Gateshead, or we can connect online or by phone if that's easier for you. I create a warm, non-judgemental space where healing can actually happen.
The butterfly in my logo reflects the heart of my work. It’s a symbol of transformation—reminding us that even through difficult or uncertain times, growth is possible. Therapy offers a space to pause, reflect, and understand yourself more fully—making room for change to unfold in your own time. That’s why my approach is guided by the idea of space to understand, room to grow.
Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck? In our sessions together, we'll create a safe space where you can breathe, explore what's really going on, and develop strategies that actually work for your unique situation. My aim is to help you create lasting positive change that feels right for you.
Communication breaking down? Feeling disconnected from your partner? My couples work helps you both find your way back to understanding each other again. Whether trust has been broken, life's transitions have created distance, or you're simply not connecting like you used to, I'll support you to rebuild together.
Think of therapy as a chance to hit the reset button. You'll discover healthier ways to handle stress and manage your overwhelming emotions. As we work together, you'll start to recognise those unhelpful patterns that keep tripping you up, and more importantly, you'll start changing them! Instead of just reacting, you'll make choices that actually serve you. And for those dealing with grief or trauma? We'll create a space where you can process what happened without letting it define your whole life story.
Ever noticed how talking to the right person can lighten the weight you're carrying? That's what professional therapy does—it helps ease anxiety and stress by giving you practical tools that actually work in real life. Your relationships tend to improve as you get better at communicating what you need and setting healthy boundaries. The best part? You'll start breaking free from those frustrating patterns and build up your ability to handle whatever comes next. It's like creating a protective bubble where you can safely work through grief and trauma, so you can move forward feeling more like yourself again.
If you're on the fence about whether therapy might help, why not have a quick chat with me first? I offer a free 15-minute phone call where you can ask questions, get a feel for how I work, and see if we might be a good fit. No pressure, no obligations, just a conversation. Your privacy is completely protected, and sometimes that initial conversation is exactly what you need to take that first step. Drop me a line today and we'll find a time to talk.
